Hooray! Say The Roses

Hooray! Say The Roses were a multi-instrumental six piece, who formed
in Leeds in 2005. The band produced beautiful, often ethereal music,
making an art form of manipulating the quiet between the noises.
This in no way reduced their ability to make a racket though, and
their trademark eruptions on stage, standing as a disorganised army,
banging percussion and singing like it was the last breath in their
lungs were an astounding sight. All of this was to be recorded for
a 10" single to be released by Motive Sounds in 2007.
We fell in love with the band and their music as soon as we heard
them in early 2006, but unfortunately
Hooray! Say The Roses have
since parted company. The good news is that the various members
are not sitting idle, and new projects can be discovered sprouting
from the seeds of Hooray! , including
Sea Kelp,
Held By Hands and
Shit Talker.We can’t recommend enough that you
hunt them down, and allow them to grow.
